Family Bernama TV cameraman, Noramfaizul Mohd Nor who was killed after a hit stolen while in Mogadishu, Somalia will receive a pension amounting to RM2, 000 per month until the children are 21 years old or graduates title.Human Resources Minister Datuk S. Subramaniam announced that they had been submitted funeral expenses of RM1, 500 from Socso to families in their homes late Wednesday.
Noramfaizul, 39, died on Friday after a stolen shot while covering humanitarian missions in Mogadishu, Somalia with Prince Club 1Malaysia.
Late leaving a widow, Norazrina Jaafar, 37, and two sons, Mohd Irfan, 8, and Mohd Aris, 3.
Dr Subramaniam said the ministry would discuss with media organizations, the need to establish guidelines to ensure safety during the mission of humanitarian wartaman abroad.
"The move is aimed to ensure that employers provide resources to protect the health and safety of journalists," he said.
Also present were Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan and Prince 1Malaysia Club president, Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.
