Two immigration officers suspended following reports that two Singapore women are forced to do tap ketampi naked, last week after being detained for allegedly entering Malaysia illegally.Singapore's Straits Times report today said the republic's Foreign Ministry sees the development as "a serious concern."
"We welcome the immediate announcement of the Malaysian authorities that an inquiry would be held soon," the daily quoted the ministry spokesman.
It reported a statement by the Director of Immigration, Datuk Alias Ahmad yesterday that officers had been suspended until an inquiry, the various stages of completion.
Alias said the seven-person panel will submit its report to the Department of Immigration and likely will call for both the woman if necessary.
